Baking is itself a true art. It may come across as really simple to follow the instructions for simple baked goods, but being hands on with the baked goods can be a bit more complicated than sautéing up some vegetable dish for dinner. Bake like a professional with no culinary degree required. ‘Sweetretreat by Sonal’ has rounded up some of its best baking tips for you to be successful at baking.
1.If your Recipe demands for eggs & you are a vegetarian

If you being a vegetarian somehow come across a recipe that demands eggs, don’t worry! Eggs can always be replaced with Curd.
Trick- Substitute ½ cup Thick Curd for 2 eggs
2.Falling short of Amul Cream for ‘Ganache’

Malai, which is usually available at every Indian household, can always be replaced with cream. Malai is top layer which forms over the milk after the heated milk is cooled down.
Trick- 200gms of dark chocolate and 80gms of malai is the ratio. Combine together the melted chocolate and warm malai. Let it rest overnight. This makes the ganache ready.
3.Before you frost the Cake!

What we usually do is, we cool the cake till it gets to the room temperature and begin to frost it. But it is not the appropriate way.
Trick- Instead we should first wrap the cake bread in the cling wrap & and let it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours and then frost it.
4.The Perfect Brownie Slice!!

Brownies cannot be resisted for a single second once they are out of the oven. Digging out the baked brownie from the baking dish itself and relishing the brownies is a delicious custom. But what if it is to be served to the guests?
Trick- Here’s a tip to get the Perfect Portion of the Brownie Slice- Let the brownie cool down completely before popping it out of the baking dish. Now, put it in the refrigerator for about half an hour and now the perfect squares can be sliced out from the large brownie.
5.The Icing over the cake gets dry!!

Most of us face the problem with the icing over the cake that usually gets dry. But don’t you worry!!
Trick- Using a spray bottle, spray some water on the icing over the cake. Now smoothen the cake from all sides using a scrapper. We are good to go with the perfectly iced cake.
6. No Space to store the cake

On our birthdays especially, the refrigerators are apparently over loaded with our favourite foods. Above all the cakes which are sent to us by friends and relatives take up a lot of space leading to us running out of space to store those lovely cakes.
Trick- Here’s a way to keep the cakes from going bad for an hour or so if not kept in the fridge. Take a bowl or a tub and fill it with ice. Cling wrap the container from the top. Now place the cake over the cling wrap. It will keep the go cake for long.
